Also, I have to believe God is sovereign and he places people in leadership to serve his purposes. Who knows what he has in mind for our nation? I certainly don't know. His ways are far above our ways and his thoughts above our thoughts. I have to trust in his plan for our nation and my life. I am tempted to worry about the future and what might be in store for our children and grandchildren, but the just shall live by faith. So, please God, increase my faith! Isn't it safer, anyway, to trust God than our politicians!?
And this morning I was reviewing 2 Peter 1:1-11 which I had memorized a couple of months ago and was struck with the message. I am hoping to receive a rich welcome into the ETERNAL kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall,
and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You know it is depressing- the outcome of the election, but I am praying God will be merciful to us. But even though things may get tougher, God will take care of us. David Jeremiah has a new book out and he has been preaching about the second coming. It is so good to have this hope of the Lord's return. After all "This world is not my home".
Wow, I said to Rod, you always have such timely thoughts on your blog, you could be a preacher! I guess when you think about it, we are all preachers, but what is our message?! Thanks for your thoughts. I came to the same conclusion on Wednesday after being quite disappointed and concerned. God will do as he pleases thankfully, and we need to trust Him.
