Saturday & Sunday

Saturday was the day for bargains. Andy had been to the optometrist earlier in the week and had a prescription for 2 pairs of glasses: one for reading and one for driving at night. We checked online to see if there were any specials out there and found that Sears was offering 2 pairs for $99. So we went on over. He found a pair he liked and ordered 2 pairs. When the girl was ringing up the order, the total came to $39.00. She re-did it - same total. She called the manager - same total. So they gave us the 2 pairs of glasses for $39.00! Not bad!

Then we decided to see if there were any shirts on sale. There were. We were looking for a darker brown print to go with his khaki colored jeans. And voila! We found one. The original price was $29.50 and it was on sale for $19.99. So we took it to the cash register, but when the sales clerk rang it up, she said: $13.99! Not bad - again!

Doesn't he look good?

Then yesterday after church, we drove up to C & C's to celebrate Asher's birthday. He was 1 year old on Saturday. He had a lot of help opening his presents. (The green tunnel in the background of the pictures is the present Andy and I gave Asher. All the kids were enjoying it, including Christian!)

Is the cake heavy, Grace?

It was fun watching him try to blow out the candle!
Happy birthday, dear little Asher!

Asher is getting to be such a cutie. When I think how sick he was several months ago- he just looks great. Glad you could enjoy him and the others.
